Our commitment to digital accessibility
The website is partially compatible with accessibility requirements according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA. Some functions and content cannot yet be offered in a fully accessible manner. Continuous optimization is planned. We understand digital accessibility as an ongoing process and an important business task. We have already implemented many measures to improve accessibility:
- Adjustable font sizes: You can easily adapt the display of our website to your reading habits. Use the key combination Ctrl and + (on Windows) or Cmd and + (on macOS) to enlarge the view. All content is scaled proportionally. With Ctrl and 0 (or Cmd and 0) you will return to the standard size.
- Clear page structure: Our articles are structured logically and semantically correct. This enables users of assistive technologies easy and quick orientation on the page.
- Improved contrasts: We have already optimized the color contrasts in large parts of the website to ensure good readability, and we are constantly working on further improvements. Keyboard operation: The basic navigation and essential functions of our website are already accessible via keyboard. The complete expansion is a central part of our future optimizations.
- Alternative texts for images: A large part of our images are provided with alternative texts, so that the content is also understandable for users of assistive technologies.
Status of compliance with requirements
Due to continuous development and the complexity of our offering, this website is currently partially compatible with the requirements of BITV 2.0. We are aware that not all areas of our offering are fully accessible and are actively working on remediation.Content that is not fully accessible:
- Third-party content: For embedded content that is not under our control (e.g., advertising banners, videos from third-party platforms or content from other sources), full accessibility cannot always be guaranteed.
- Videos: Audio description (an acoustic description of visual content) for videos is currently not available.
- Keyboard operation: The keyboard accessibility of the website is generally provided. Core functions – such as the inquiry form – are fully usable without a mouse. However, some interactive elements, especially those related to embedded external content (e.g., media players, map services, or widgets), may currently have limitations in keyboard control.
- Alternative texts: The technical structure of the website generally provides for the use of alternative texts for graphics and controls. However, in some cases – especially in older content or within complex image galleries – alternative texts may still be missing or insufficient.
